I am Shiera Potmis, a personal trainer and poet whose writing explores resilience, healing, love, loss, betrayal, and the quiet strength we discover within ourselves. As a personal trainer, poet, artist and author from Sint Maarten, I currently live in the Netherlands. My passion for helping others extends beyond fitness and into the written word, where I explore themes of resilience, healing, love, loss, betrayal, hope and personal growth inspired by my own experiences. Writing and art have always been a place of reflection and healing for me. Through poetry, I give a voice to emotions that are often left unspoken, encouraging readers to embrace their own journey with courage and authenticity. Whether coaching clients toward physical strength or inspiring readers through poetry, my mission remains the same: to remind people that true strength begins within.

The cover of the book is indeed self-created. The faceless beauty signifies all women who feel trapped with self-doubt, insecurities and fears. She looks over her shoulder wanting to cry for help while in reality, she is the only one who can unbind her and set her free.

Silence Cries

Betrayal is the hardest slap one will ever feel, it burns through you leaving a wound so deep you feel yourself turning into an empty presence fading away.

It is not something we ever anticipate for, especially when it comes from loved ones. How do you move on from here? Do you create your own prison, forge your own walls and bars from self doubt, mistrust and defence? or do you learn to simply walk away?

There is power in simply walking away.
